Coimbatore: Addressing the rural public in Odanthurai Panchayat in Mettupalayam, MP A. Raja appealed to the people saying, "Don't fall prey to cash for votes. Think and vote to save democracy."
He alleged that as usual AIADMK has been using their money power to win elections. Voters are bribed with Rs.500 to 1000 for every vote. He sarcastically told the people to accept the cash given AIADMK as its people money.
The five time MP, A. Raja has been vigourously campaigning for the candidates of DMK and allied parties contesting in the rural local body polls to be held in two phases on December 27 and 30.
Interacting with the people in Oomapalayam of Odanthurai Panchayat he insisted the voters cast their votes sensibly and responsibly.
He accused that the AIADMK government has hiked the price of alcohol by Rs. 15 per bottle in an intent to use the extra money for bribing the voters.
