Students of the GRD Institute of Management showcase their ideas and innovation

The 2016 edition of the GRD Institute of Management annual Marketing Road Show was inaugurated at this college campus this morning. Students who are pursuing their Under and Post Graduate (UG and PG) programmes at this department put up stalls that focused on various themes and concepts that are related to management. “The idea behind hosting such events annually, at our campus to provide our students a platform to put to practical use, the concepts that they learn within the four walls of their classrooms. Various management themes and trends with the focus on products, pricing, promotion and place are on display at the stalls that have been put up by our students.” Dr. K. K. Ramachandran, Director, GRD Institute of Management College said after this event was declared open.

Students of various programmes of GRD Institute of Management have formed teams and there are a total of 13 stalls that are put up by the students of this department. Each stall is created around a management concept and most importantly, each stall conveys a message. While we walk the talk with the organizers at the venue we are introduced to the first year students of the Master of Business Administration. (MBA). We are treated to some unique flavours of ice-gola. At this stall Soundaria, the team leader educates us that the team has worked on the concept of promoting food. “Seven of us have gotten together to put up this stall. Our focus is on not to waste food. Across the world about one-third food is being wasted. In order to educate people to refrain from wasting food, we are promoting the Think, Eat and Save food concept. Think what you want to eat. Eat only how much you can. And lastly save food.” Soundaria shares. A powerful message which this team is hoping will reach out to people.

Taking a break from serious themes and giving visitors every reason to be happy and smile is the various themes of instant selfie booth that has been put up by Saravana Karthi and team. While at this stall visitors are allowed to pose in one of their favourite selfie booth themes and take photographs too. The idea is to ensure that visitors smile, the same is captured on lens and delivered to them in the form of a photograph.  This instant photography stall had a bee-line of visitors.

This day-long event is open to public and entry is free. A part of the proceeds from this event will be used to support a noble cause.
