Coimbatore: Over a thousand people including children thronged the ongoing 12th Elephant Rejuvenation Camp held on behalf of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Board (HR&CE) in Thekkampatti, near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district.
Coimbatore: Over a thousand people including children thronged the ongoing 12th Elephant Rejuvenation Camp held on behalf of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Board (HR&CE) in Thekkampatti, near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district.
The 48-day camp for temple and mutt elephants commenced was flagged off on December 15. 28 temple elephants from various temples across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are part of the camp in which they would be provided with round-the-clock medical care and balanced food.

Fences are installed around the camp to avoid intrusion and of wild elephants. Special arrangements including galleries have been arranged for tourists to watch the elephants relax and consume food.
More than a thousand people from Coimbatore,Tirupur, and Nilgiris districts visited the camp. Especially, Children were seen jubilating seieng the naughty reactions of the elephants.
Shops, drinking water and toilet facilities have been set up for the tourists.
