Coimbatore: The parents of 11th grade student, Harish of Vidhya Vikas International School who allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room on Thursday have petitioned the RDO against the School Management and Inspector Nagaraj of Karamadai Police station for hiding the truths behind their son's death.

Suspecting a foulplay, Kumar and Sumithra, the parents of deceased Harish along with the relatives stormed into the District Collectorate on Friday, as they were denied entry they approached the RDO to explain the foulplay in their son's death. They alleged that the answers given by the school management and Inspector Nagaraj are highly dubious and hence demand a through probe on the issue.

The parents also requested to transfer the case to another police station.

The following the allegations of the parents:

"My son is a brave boy and not the type of ending his life by committing suicide. He holds a black belt in Karate. On Thursday, around 4:57 pm, Karamadai Police Inspector Nagaraj contacted us over phone and informed that our son Harish had committed suicide by hanging himself at the hostel room."

"Even after informing that we will reach the school by half hour my boy’s body was removed and sent to autopsy. Why did they have to rush..?", questioned the parent.

They further added that, “The same day, as Harish was suffering from diarrhea, he got electral powder from his warden at 1:27 pm. Surprisingly, the CCTV footage from 1:27 pm to the time they suspect him to have hanged are missing. When inquired, the school management td us that the camera had gone faulty. In that case, how is that a camera that was functioning from morning stopped working exactly for that duration till my son's death..? Such things have raised serious doubts about the cause of the death of my son.”

He alleged that “If my son had committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan, then the blades of the fan would have certainly bent. Furthermore, just 10 ft away from the place where they say my son was hanging, there were drops of blood splattered on the floor. When asked, the Sub Inspector told me that my son initially tried to cut his throat and then attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself in the fan. If that is the case, then the whole room should be splattered with blood stains. My son doesn’t like the sight of blood and will faint if he sees blood anywhere and it is impossible that he tried to kill himself by cutting his throat. What was even more suspicious was that all the papers in Harish’s room have been neatly cleaned and kept in order."

He lamented the fact that only the Principal turned up to meet them and not the Management of the School. He also added that the Tahsildar had taken the video of the spot of the death.

"The Karamadai Police are acting favourably to the School Management and not working towards establishing the truth. I don’t want this to happen to any other student in this school and that is the reason we have come this far in this bereaved situation", the parent grieved.

The parents suspect that his ward would have and the School Management and the Cops are trying to up the issue. Kumar, Harish's father has launched an official complaint against the School Management and Police Sub Inspector Nagaraj and has requested to transfer the case to a different police station or to another department so that they wouldn't intrude in the investigation of the truth.
