Coimbatore: A 11th grade student of a private school allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room, the police said on Thursday. The parents of the student have alleged that the School Management did not inform them immediately after his death and by the time they reached the school his body was sent to autopsy.

Harish, is the eldest son of Kumar and Sumithra from Paapampatti in Coimbatore. Six months back, Harish was admitted in Vidya Vikas International CBSE school in Karamadai for 11th grade. He stayed in hostel and was pursuing his education.
Shockingly, on Thursday evening Harish allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room. Upon information, the school management alerted the police who rushed to the spot and sent the boy's body to Coimbatore government hospital for autopsy.
The parents have alleged that the school management failed to inform them ontime and have questioned why the body was rushed to postmortem before their arrival.
While investigations are on, the parents on Friday laid seige to Karamadai police station questioning why they were not called immediately after their son's alleged suicide. They also stated that they suspect foulplay and demanded a probe.
