Coimbatore: Fearing mass protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the City police have tightened security at the VOC Park ground here and barricaded the main entrance.
In the wake of massive outrage against CAA across the nation and the series of protests by the student community, political organisations and Islamic outfits, the City police have taken control of VOC grounds to prevent mass gatherings.
As a precaution, 2500 additional police personnel have been deployed in the city.
