Addressing a review meeting at the District Collectorate here on Wednesday, the Election Observer inquired about the arrangements made ahead of the rural local body polls which would be held in two phases -- December 27 and 30.
He urged that prior to the elections and on the day of polling, the Election Officer, Assistant Election Officer and Additional Election Officers must visit the polling stations to check on arrangements like drinking water, wheel chair accessibility and toilet facilities.
"The other polling stations at Sultanpet Panchayat Union, Paapampatti Middle school, Siddhanayackenpalayam Elementary School, Selakarisal Middle school, Appanaickenpatti elementary school must be visited and inspected." he ordered.
The officers were insisted to take control of the schools, two days ahead of the elections, to ensure if all arrangements are done properly.
District Collector, K. Rajamani, District Superintendent of Police, Sujit Kumar, Director, District Rural Development Agency, Rameshkumar, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Palanisamy, Assistant Election Officers and government officials attended the meeting.
