Coimbatore: Ellai Maakaliamman Temple in Ettimadai, Coimbatore organised a livestock Exhibition and Carnival on Wednesday, in which 700 bulls, 200 horses, 400 roosters took part and enthralled the spectators.

The exhibition was attended by farmers and public from various parts of the district. Minister SP Velumani and Nallaram Foundation President SP Anbarasan participated in the event followed by Maha Chandi Yaga that took place as part of the festival.
Commenting on the festival, Kannan, the Managing Trustee of the Temple Trust said that the Kumbabhisheka event, the livestock exhibition and scholarships for poor children were held on behalf of the administration of Ellai Maakaliamman Temple.
He added that the event has been organized to promote agriculture in this region and to develop an interest in the new generation of farmers.
Poochi bulls, Kangeyam bulls and other native bull varieties inuding roosters took part in the cattle expo that was flagged off today at 9 am.
MLA Shanmugam, Siravai Adheenam Kumarakurupara Swamigal, Marudasala Adikalar Thencherimalai Muthu Shiva Ramaswamy Adikallar, Pillaiyar Peedam Manivasaka Adikallar and many others participated in the Maha Chandi Yagam.
Over 10,000 people took part in the Annadhanam that was arranged on behalf of the temple.
