Coimbatore: Tense moments prevailed at Athupaalam here on Monday evening after members of Campus Front of India gathered to hold an agitation against the recent Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). All protestors were courted arrest for burning effigies of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah.
Coimbatore: Tense moments prevailed at Athupaalam here on Monday evening after members of Campus Front of India gathered to hold an agitation against the recent Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). All protestors were courted arrest for burning effigies of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah.

The protesters who gathered near Athupaalam raised slogans against the BJP government for passing the Citizenship bill which they alleged to be against constitution and democracy. The CFI members also vehemently condemned the ongoing police assualt on student protesters in Northern parts of India.

The police and the protesters got into a scuffle after they tried to burn effigies of the PM and Home Minister.
