Coimbatore: The Sulur Police on Monday booked the Principal and three teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya School under Section 7 and 8 of POCSO act for allegedly torturing a 11th grade student and beating him up in his private parts.

Based on the complaint by the parents of the student, the Police are holding an inquiry with the affected students and have registered POCSO act on Meganathan, the Principal and teachers - Aruna, Divya and Tamilarasi.
Kam Ram Singh from Bihar is employed at the Sulur Air Base on Trichy Road, Coimbatore. His sons study at Kendriya Vidyalaya School in the same area in class 11 and class 9.
Seema Kumari, the mother of the students alleged that the Principal and teachers of the school had apparently inflicted physical and mental torture on the students.
Speaking about the incident Seema Kumari, said, "My elder son was tortured in the school. The Principal and the teachers had made my son take off his pants and beat him in his buttocks and private parts. He had undergone immense torture by the school. We have hospitalized him to help him with the pain."
The Police have now booked the concerned people under POCSO.
Meanwhile, more than 500 school students went on a protest this morning in support of the School Principal and the teachers. The students boycotted their classes and raised slogans in support of the teachers.
The students also accused that the students who allegedly were tortured behaved inappropriately at the school and have blatantly lied about the teachers. Hence, the students demanded to revoke the POCSO act booked on Principal, Meganathan and teachers Divya, Tamilselvi and Aruna.
While, the police have conducted an inquiry on the incident and booked the Principal and the teachers under Section 7 and 8 of POCSO act, the protest of the school students in support of the teachers has raised many questions regarding the issue.
