Coimbatore: In a press meet held here, K. Ramakrishnan, General Secretary of Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kalagam (TPDK) alleged that Sivalakshmanan, a youth from Nadur was taken to Mettupalayam police station and brutally assaulted.
Condemning the act, he said that people of Nadur in Mettupalayam are still stuck in shock over the wall collapse incident which claimed the lives of 17 people. In this scenario, the Police have unleased another brutality on a man from the same area for frivolous reasons.

Seconding him, Rathnam, a Senior Advocate of Madras High Court alleged that the police had violated the rules by thrashing Sivalakshmanan at police station.
He said the police who were involved in this act should be booked under appropriate sections. "A case has been filed at the Madars High Court", he apprised.

Meanwhile, Sivalakshmanan has stated that he was taken to the police station for asking the police personnel who was on duty at Nadur accident site to be respectable and amiable. He also accused that the police stripped him and kicked him without mercy.
