While north-east India is gripped with protests against the bill alleging to discriminate the Muslims, several Islamic organisations in Tamil Nadu have also taken to the streets to show their disapproval against the bill.
In Coonoor, the SDPI cadres on Tuesday protested against the Citizenship Bill at VP street in Coonoor. Tense situation prevailed, as the cadres burnt the copies of the bill.
Irked by the Citizenship bill, the SDPI cadres questioned if it was fair to deny citizenship to Rohingya Muslims and Sri Lankan Tamils. They warned of protests if the bill is legislated in any form.
Later, all protestors were courted arrest.
