Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer J. Sravan Kumar on Tuesday inaugurated the "E-Waste Management Project" which aims at collecting electronic wastes from corporates, givernemt offices and residences within Coimbatore Corporation limits.

A seperate vehicle assigned to collect and segregate e-waste from the city was flagged off from the Corporation Head office at Town Hall. The event was presided by the Deputy Commissioner, Prasanna Ramasamy.
Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) and Green Era Recyclers company (Pollution Control board approved) have joined hands to kick-start the process of collecting e-waste from offices, government offices, residences, apartments etc.,
Corporation Commissioner, J Sravan Kumar requested the corporates and the public to cooperate in the process of segregating e-waste from other wastes.
He added that electronic waste or e-waste means all discarded electrical or electronic devices. The project would be implemented in a phased manner across all 100 wards in the city.
Corporation Urban Development Officer K. Santosh Kumar, Revenue - Assistant Commissioner, Annadurai, West Zonal Assistant Commissioner AJ Senthil Arasan, Assistant Urban development Officer Vasant Diwakar, Swachh Bharat Ambassador Thirumal and other officers were present.
