Tirupur: In a bizarre incident, two engineering graduates were arrested for deceiving people by performing black magic and witchcraft.
Upon complaint raised by Maheswaran (35) of Kovilvazhi in Tirupur, the Tirupur (rural) police arrested Balaji (24) from Marudhanallur area, Nandhivanam in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District and Mahaprabhu (23) from Main road area, Marudhapattinam in Tiruvaroor Taluk for deceiving people on breaking spells.
According to police reports, the duo visited Maheswaran's residence and have claimed to be experts in dealing black magic. They have allegedly told Maheswaran that one of his child is affected by black magic and they could perform rituals to release him from the evilness.
The duo have also demanded Rs. 4500 for performing the ritual. However, Maheswaran got dubious on the youngsters after he questioned their names and whereabouts.
He immediately alerted the police who rushed to his residence and caught the two graduates red-handed and arrested them.
Upon enquiry, nit was found that the two men were engineering graduates and have tricked several people with witchcraft tricks in Tirupur, Avinashi Road, Thirumurugan Poondi area.
