Selvaraj and Maheswari, residents of Muthusamy Street had visited Raja street in Townhall for shopping. After finishing the shopping, when they went to pick up their bike parked, near Thermutti on Raja Street they found it punctured.
While, Selvaraj was waiting for a mechanic, a drunken passerby attempted to steal the bike. Hearing the couple cry for help, the public in the area caught the drunken thief and thrashed him.
The Big Bazar Street police who were informed about the incident, arrived to the spot and arrested the man.
