One dead in road accident on MTP-Annur road

Coimbatore: In a road accident on Mettupalayam - Annur road, a man was killed after his car collided head on with a lorry.


Coimbatore: In a road accident on Mettupalayam - Annur road, a man was killed after his car collided head on with a lorry.

Sanjeev Kumar, from Kandal in Ooty with his family was returning to Ooty from Tirunelveli after attending a wedding ceremony on Monday morning. While the car reached near Kumarankundru, his car and a lorry collided head on MTP-Annur road.

Sanjeev Kumar, died on the spot, while Mahalakshmi and Damodharan sustained grievous injuries. They were immediately rushed to MTP Government hospital for treatment. 

Subsequently, the Sirumugai police who arrived to the accident spot retrieved the deceased and sent the body to Mettupalayam Government Hospital for autopsy. 

The police have registered a case and are investigating.
