The Nilgiris: Around 71 Westerners from the US, UK, Russia and Argentina who had made a group reservation to travel in the 111-year-old Nilgiri Mountain Rail (NMR) enjoyed a joyful ride and cherished the picturesque view of the blue mountains.

"The bulk reservation has fetched a bounty for the Southern railways. The group reservation was made by the tourists around two months ago. They had rented the train for RS. 2.07 lakhs for a trip from Coonoor to Ooty", told an official source from NMR.
Following a memorable ride in the UNESCO recognized 'heritage train', the foreigners visited several tourist spots in and around Ooty including Botanical garden, Rose garden, Boat House and Doddabetta.
