Ayyalu Ganesan (38) a traffic policeman at the Big Bazaar police station in Coimbatore lives with his wife, Srija, a son and a daughter in Coimbatore. Due to marital issues, Srija has been living at her mother's house in Sundakamuttur for the past 10 months.
She has also registered a complaint on him for repeatedly torturing her. On Thursday, Ayyalu had gone to visit his wife at Sundakamuthur and due to a verbal tiff he has allegedly thrashed his wife, daughter and his mother in law.
Srija who sustained severe injuries to her face went to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment, today. Meanwhile, Ayyalu Ganesan who followed her tried to slit her neck at the Coimbatore GH.
Shocked by his behaviour, the public intervened and handed him over to the police station. The Perur police have registered a case and are investigating.
