Jessintha Marie (5), daughter of Arogyaraj from Siluvaipuram in Avinashi has been suffering from fever for the past few days. On December 3, she was admitted at GH for treatment. She succumbed to fever, this morning.
Similarly, Saravanan's son Daranesh (8) from Nachipalayam, Tirupur was admitted to the GH on December 4 for treatment of fever. Not responding to the treatment, he passed away today.
The death of two children due to fever has panicked the people who have urged to improve the sanitation conditions in the city, as monsoon invites several mosquito-borne disease like dengue, typhoid and other viral infections.
However, the hospital administration have not informed on the type of fever that has claimed the lives of two children.
