Coimbatore: Tribals from more than 15 hamlets in the Anaikatti hills were screened for asthma symptoms in the free medical camp held here on Saturday.
The 170 tribals hailing from hamlets in Tamil Nadu and Kerala were offered free counselling along with Breatho Meter and Spyro Meter check ups by Dr. Vidhya from Anaikatti and her associates.
According to sources, most of the hamlet dwellers make a living out of daily wage jobs such as in construction sites and brick kilns, and hence prone to being affected by asthma or other respiratory ailments.
Through the camp, the villagers were screened and also offered minimal treatment, if necessary.
