Coimbatore: One of the main accused in the rape case of the 17-year-old girl in Coimbatore was nabbed by the special team of police on Wednesday.
The accused 'Puffs' Karthik and Manikandan who are regarded to be the main accused were absconding since the incident. While Manikandan surrendered at Mahila Court on Tuesday, December 3, the police were on the look out for Karthik.
The remaining accused Rahul (21), Prakash (22), Karthikeyan (28) and Narayanamurthy (30) are under judicial custody.
All accused including Manikandan and Karthik have been booked under six sections including four sections under POCSO and IPC 354 - rape, IPC 506(2). The Mahila Court ordered judicial custody for Manikandan till December 17.
