Coimbatore: Agitated by the tragic incident in Mettupalayam, relatives and caste members of the victims held a protest demanding arrest of the house owner whose compound wall collapsed on four houses and claimed the lives of 17 people on Monday.
Coimbatore: Agitated by the tragic incident in Mettupalayam, relatives and caste members of the victims held a protest demanding arrest of the house owner whose compound wall collapsed on four houses and claimed the lives of 17 people on Monday.
According to Police reports, a 10-foot tall compound wall at AT Colony near Mettupalayam collapsed and fell on four houses on the wee hours of Monday crushing to death at least 17 residents of the houses.
The protestors who gathered at Six Corner area in Mettupalayam on Monday afternoon demanded, that "The owner of the house should be immediately arrested for ignoring the repeated requests to remove the wall. The family members of the deceased must be provided with government jobs."
All the protestors were arrested.
