Social Justice Lawyers Union and PUCL protest against Sri Lankan President's visit

Coimbatore: Condemning the visit of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the lawyers of People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) and and Social Justice Lawyers Union staged an agitation in front of the District Combined Court Complex here on Friday.

Coimbatore: Condemning the visit of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the lawyers of People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) and and Social Justice Lawyers Union staged an agitation in front of the District Combined Court Complex here on Friday. 



The Sri Lankan president will be on a three-day visit to India from November 28-30. Showing their disapproval against his visit, parties like MDMK led by Vaiko are holding demonstration against his visit. 



The lawyers who protested here expressed their disapproval against the Centre for inviting and hosting the newly sworn in President of Sri Lanka. They recalled the horrendous 'Eelam' mass murder and called the Sri Lankan President as a 'war criminal'.



They raised slogans with placards saying "Go back, Gotabaya Rajapaksa. You are a war criminal".
