Coimbatore: A review meeting chaired by Harmander Singh Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration and Water Supply) in the presence of Commissioner of Municipal Administration Dr K. Baskaran was held at the Coimbatore Corporation Central zone office on Tuesday.
Coimbatore: A review meeting chaired by Harmander Singh Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration and Water Supply) in the presence of Commissioner of Municipal Administration Dr K. Baskaran was held at the Coimbatore Corporation Central zone office on Tuesday.
The meeting was held in the presence of District Collector K. Rajamani and Corporation Commissioner and Special officer J. Sravan Kumar and other official.
Speaking at the meeting, Principal Secretary, Harmander Singh said "All concerned Officers should work with the relevant authorities to improve and maintain basic facilities in the Coimbatore Corporation and Municipal areas. Enough care should be taken to maintain the reservoirs in Siruvani, Pillur and Aliyar dams for smooth drinking water supply. Cleaning, rainwater harvesting and construction of new drinking water connections should be carried without any delay."
He added saying, "Persons who use banned plastics and manufacturers must be busted and imposed with fines. Dengue Fever Prevention Awareness Program must be followed diligently".
Municipal Administration, Dr K. Baskaran said, "The Corporation should carefully consider the executing Solid Waste Management Program. We must ensure that the public works in the form of segregation of biodegradable, public garbage collection and sanitation, as well as government projects, are executed well."
City Engineer Lakshmanan, Zonal Assistant Commissioners TR Ravi, AJ Senthil Arasan, Mahesh Kanagaraj, officers from social welfare, health, highways, electricity and transport departments took part in the meeting.
