Based on fingerprints and CCTV footage, the police on November 24 arrested two accused - R. Goplasamy from Negamam and Raja from Ayyarpadi area in connection with the case. As the duo revealed the involvement of another person in the case, the police intensified vehicle check and night patrol.
Today morning, while a team of police personnel were carrying out a vehicle check at Stanmore Junction, they fell suspicious on a man and stopped him.
As the man gave dubious answers, he was taken to Valparai police station for further investigation. Upon inquiry, the man confessed of his involvement in ATM burglary. The man has been identified as M. Jeevanandham from Erode, the primary accused.
Several cases pertaining to various crimes are pending on Jeevanadham, said the police. Subsequently, he was arrested and produced in the Valparai Court and later remanded in Coimbatore Central Prison.
