Coimbatore: Developmental and welfare measures worth Rs.2.93 crore in the South Zone, was inaugurated by S.P. Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration and RDI on Tuesday.
Coimbatore: Developmental and welfare measures worth Rs.2.93 crore in the South Zone, was inaugurated by S.P. Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration and RDI on Tuesday.

The newly built road at Ward no. 91, Thottarayan Koil Street at a cost of Rs. 1.76 lakh which was funded from Corporation general fund was inaugurated for public use. Installation of street lights at Rs. 63.90 lakhs was also initiated by the Minister.

He also attended the initiation ceremony at Ward no. 91, Kulathupalayam, Ammasai Gowder Street, of the construction of a mid-day meal center at the cost of Rs.19.80 lakh and a ration shop on NTP street at Ward no. 89.

The Minister also inaugurated a Women's Self-help Group building at Ward no.89, Pallikoodam street and an auditorium at Gandhi Ground, Kamatchiamman Koil Street.

At the Kovaipudur library, Ward no. 90, he inaugurated an addditional room constructed at Rs. 5 lakh and inspected the collection of books at the library.

Later at the CM's Special Grievance Redressal Camp held at Ward no. 89 Sundakkamuthur, Ayyappan Koil Kabadi Ground and Ward no. 90, the Minister distributed various welfare measures to the beneficiaries.
74 beneficiaries received benefits under the Amma Two- Wheeler Scheme (55 from Ward no. 89 and 19 from Ward. No. 90, 91). And, 15 beneficiaries received orders for new drinking water connection from Ward. No. 89, Sundakkamuthur. A total of 89 beneficiaries were presented with welfare measures.
District Collector K. Rajamani, Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, J. Sravan Kumar and Deputy Commissioner, CCMC, Prasanna Ramasamy were present. District Revenue Officer, Ramadurai Murgan delivered the welcome address.
