Coimbatore: The timely interference of social activists has helped to rescue an inpatient of Governement hospital who allegedly left the hospital without any intimation. The woman who was reported to be in a critical stage was found wandering near the railway track in a dehydrated state here on Saturday.
Coimbatore: The timely interference of social activists has helped to rescue an inpatient of Governement hospital who allegedly left the hospital without any intimation. The woman who was reported to be in a critical stage was found wandering near the railway track in a dehydrated state here on Saturday.
The patient has been identified as Muthammal (85) from Karadivavi, Tirupur district . She reportedly has left the hospital without notice and has been wandering around railway tracks in a dehydrated state.
The social activists who found her walking in a woeful state on the railway tracks immediately rescued her and informed to the hospital administration who arranged an ambulance and shifted her back to GH.
The humane gesture by the social activists was commended by the public in the area who also alleged that orphaned patients often walk from GH and roam in the pavements and around railway station.
They also noted that they have even witnessed patients with saline bottle and IV needle chased away from the GH. While there is a separate ward in the GH to treat unknown patients, allegations are rife that at times, doctors and nursing staff chase them away from the wards to the streets.
