Coimbatore: “The recent events of Maharashtra is a murder of democracy and the people will teach a suitable lesson”, slammed All India Congress Committee secretary and in charge of Tamil Nadu, Sanjay Dutt.

The All India Congress Party has been conducting protests in all the districts, condemning the economic policies of the Central Government. Protests happened outside the Coimbatore South Taluk Office, as a part of a series of protests.

Participating in this, All India Congress Committee Secretary and In-charge of Tamil Nadu, Sanjay Dutt met the press.

"The nationwide protests are to condemn the bad economic policies of the Central Government and to raise the awareness among the people. Policies of the Central Government like demonetisation and GST were backed by the Tamilnadu Government who behave like the puppets of the BJP. The economic growth of the country has dipped to 5% and job growth is at 9% which is the lowest in 45 years", he criticized.

"The BJP came to power, promising job opportunities to two crore people each year. Due to their bad policies there is more job loss, unemployment and the government is incapable of handling it", he accused. "They promised to end black money, but they have used the black money to go against the rules of the Election Commission and spent beyond the stipulated limit and got into power. Criminals like Dawood Ibrahim have donated money for the election campaign, as per the latest information", he charged.

"What is happening in Maharashtra is horse-trading", he slammed. "The Governor did not give the opposition party enough time to claim rule. The guidelines maintained all these years has been assaulted. It shows the lack of respect for political process that PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have", he attacked.

He questioned why the SPG protection given to Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka were withdrawn and commented that it showed that BJP is intent on political revenge. He also insisted that the SPG protection should be given to them. He warned that if the Central government did not change it's anti-people policies, more protests would follow.

Both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister have tweeted their happiness about the new government in Maharashtra, on Twitter. When Tamilnadu was destroyed by the GAJA cyclone the Prime Minister did not allocate enough funds. Sanjay Dutt questioned why the PM did not even remark about it or put a tweet on Twitter. Coimbatore District in-charge Mohan Kumaramangalam, Suburban district leader Manoharan, Sakthivel, Venus Mani and many others were involved in the protests and raised slogans against the Central Government.
