State Govt. puts property tax revision on hold; ICCI welcomes decision

Coimbatore: Expressing their gratitude to the State government for deferring the hike in Property Tax rates for urban areas, the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCI) on behalf of its members have whole heartedly thanked Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edapadi Palanisamy and Minister for Local Administration S P Velumani for keeping the hike in the Property Tax on hold.


Coimbatore: Expressing their gratitude to the State government for deferring the hike in Property Tax rates for urban areas, the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCI) on behalf of its members have whole heartedly thanked Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edapadi Palanisamy and Minister for Local Administration S P Velumani for keeping the hike in the Property Tax on hold.

"We also thank the Government for considering favourably the representations from house owners, traders, industries and the general public in this regard", a release from ICCI said. 

The release further noted that "This announcement of the Government will certainly help all sectors - industrial, commercial establishments and residences situated in Coimbatore which are very badly affected due to economic slowdown, to carry out their day to day activities without any distress and also help them to overcome the present financial crunch."

ICCI, Coimbatore Chapter has appealed to the four-member Committee, constituted by the State Government, to favourably consider the representations of trade, industry and common man with regard to Property Tax revision.
