Coimbatore: Despite Court orders, Human Rights lawyers have been denied permission to meet Maoist Deepak who is being treated at the Prisoners Treatment Unit.

The lawyers for Maoist Deepak who is being treated at the Government Hospital in Coimbatore had sought permission from the hospital management to meet him after being granted permission to do so by the Chief Sessions Court Justice, Sakthivel. However, Assistant Resident Medical Officer, Ponmudi Selvan refused to permit the lawyers to meet Deepak. Following this, a group of Human Rights advocates sought permission from the hospital management, urging them to implement the Court order.
Meanwhile, the advocates showed a copy of the Court order to the police to meet Maoist Deepak but the police department too refused to grant permission. Following this, the team of advocates have rushed back to the Court.
