Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Consumer Court has issued an arrest warrant against the Managing Director of Aavin for failing to pay compensation to consumers affected by Aavin's poor quality of service.

Anbazhagan residing in Vadavalli had paid money and obtained the Customer Card for purchasing milk from Aavin in 2014. However, his name was reportedly not registered in the Aavin booth. Anbazhagan took up the issue to the Coimbatore Consumer Court under the category of poor quality of service.
The Coimbatore Consumer Court heard the case and awarded Anbazhagan Rs.5000 compensation and Rs.3000 for the case proceedings on July 7, 2019. However, the Aavin management had not abided by the Court ruling and had not paid the stipulated compensation to Anbazhagan. The Court has therefore issued an arrest warrant against the Managing Director of Aavin.
