A lorry carrying about 4500 bricks met with an accident yesterday near Perianaickenpalayam in which two people were injured. According to sources, the truck belongs to the SSM brick industry from Thadagam.
“When the District Collector ordered immediate closure, how come bricks were being carried in a lorry belonging to one of these chambers. The lorry was also carrying bricks much beyond its allowed capacity, which itself is a huge risk. Immediate stern action should be taken and all these chambers should be closed down," demanded Ganesh, an activist from Thadagam.
