Krishnapuram and Kannimariamman Temple Street were the worst hit. After hearing the grievances of the people living in these areas, the Collector addressed the media and said that areas in Annai Velankanni Nagar, Krishnapuram, Kannimariamman temple and areas along the highways are highly affected.
She said that the removal of Government and private buildings constructed along the riverside will begin today and assured that the three ground bridges in the Krishnapuram area will be levelled and constructed again, and inscriptions will be erected in the Kanni Mariamman temple area for water to be discharged.

Innocent Divya also assured that project evaluation will be submitted and funds for the same will be received from the Minister for Municipal Administration & RDI, S P Velumani who will be visiting Nilgiris, to begin repair work soon.
