Three-year old boy succumbs to mysterious fever at Coimbatore GH

Coimbatore: An three-year-old boy from Tirupur who was suffering from mysterious fever for a few days died on Friday at Coimbatore Government hospital.

Siddharth (3), son of Naveedhakrishnan of Periya Thottam area in Tirupur was suffering from fever and had undergone treatment at the Tirupur government hospital, over a week. 

As the fever did not subside, the boy was referred to Coimbatore government hospital two days back. Despite critical treatment, his condition worsened on Friday and he died around evening, sources from hospital said. 

The parents who were shattered by the death of the child carried his corpse in their hands to the mortuary. Seeing the inconsolable parents, the public who were present at the GH broke down in tears. 

Recently, several patients including children from Mudhalipalayam area in Tirupur have undergone treatment for fever at Coimbatore GH. The death of this boy has brought shock waves among the people in Tirupur who have urged the corporation officials to ensure sanitation in their area.
