AIADMK gears up for local body elections; invites applications for contesting in Tirupur

Tirupur: Following Coimbatore, Tirupur District AIADMK party office is being thronged by cadres who have gathered in large numbers to collect application forms to contest in the upcoming local body elections.


Tirupur: Following Coimbatore, Tirupur District AIADMK party office is being thronged by cadres who have gathered in large numbers to collect application forms to contest in the upcoming local body elections.



Members of the Tirupur AIADMK, willing to contest in the local body elections, can pay and obtain the application at the party's district head office on November 15th and 16th. The cost of application for various posts have been determined as - Rs.25,000 for Mayor, Rs.10,000 for Municipal Chairman, Rs. 5,000 for Ward Member & Town Panchayat President, Rs.2,500 for Municipal Councilor and Rs. 1,500 for Town Panchayat Ward Member.



The list of district - wise party executives who are deputed for collecting application forms has also been released. On behalf of the Tirupur District AIADMK, party executives under District Secretary and Ex-Minister Anandan, S. M.Velusamy and P.V Damodaran would receive the applications within corporation limits.



For the suburban district, party executives under Pollachi Jayaraman, Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan, Liyagath Ali Khan and Chinnasamy would receive the applications.



Among the others, MSM Anandan who contested and lost in the recent parliamentary elections had filed an application to contest on behalf of the AIADMK, for the position of Mayor. Similarly applications are being filed for various positions like Corporation Ward Councilor, Municipality Ward Councilor and Town Panchayat Ward Councilor.
