Tirupur: Mutharasan The State Secretary of the Communist Party of India, Mutharasan has raised doubts about the upcoming elections and voiced his apprehensions about whether it would be conducted in a democratic way.

He also condemned the Chief Minister's response to the accident involving the 30-year old who was grievously injured owing to a tottering AIADMK flagpole. He felt the CM's response was irresponsible and did not suit the position of CM.
A public meeting was organised on behalf of the Communist Party of India during the inauguration of the new building of Jeeva Illam. The State Secretary of the party Mutharasan participated and inaugurated the new building of Jeeva Illam.
Addressing the media, Mutharasan voiced his concern about the election announced by the State Election Commission which are to be held by December. "Announcements have been made regarding the elections. However, there is a lack of transparency in the statements issued by both the Ministers and the Election Commission. They seem very cryptic. New districts have been added, but have all the wards in the districts been created? If all the urban wards have been created and categorized as general ward, then what about the ward for women candidates or the ward for SC/ST's. Such information is completely unavailable to the political parties and just announcing that elections willbe held creates doubts. Elections should happen in a democratic and honest manner. The lack of assurance about the elections to be conducted is worrisome and condemnable," opined Mutharasan.
Mutharasan also commented about the accident that caused grievous injuries to Anuradha's legs on account of a tottering AIADMK flagpole , which has also been condemned by all political parties. "The Chief Minister's response that he was not aware of the incident and that he was not informed about the incident sounds very irresponsible and is not suitable for his position," stated Mutharasan. He also highlighted the response of another Minister who had dismissed the incident saying accidents happen and if there is a loss of life, due homage to the dead will be paid. "This comment is also equally irresponsible and they should stop responding so carelessly. I request that the use of banners and flags which cause disturbances and accidents to the public be discontinued," urged Mutharasan.
The Tiruppur MP and State Deputy Secretary, Subbarayan and various party administrators participated in the event.
