Coimbatore: Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO ) in a press meet apprised that their organisation plans to focus on women empowerment, education and cty development in the upcoming year.

Ramesh C. Bafna, the newly elected Chairman in a media briefing said that “Jains though are the highest tax payers in the country do not have a common platform to promote their business and also to engage in community developmental activities. To address this issue, JITO was formed in 2007 to connect Jains across the globe. JITO focusses on Shiksha (education) Seva (service) and Empowerment."
He added that JITO offers civil service coaching classes free of cost to students and has 4 centres in the country. “JITO, Coimbatore chapter has plans to open one such centre in Coimbatore. As students from Jain community are pure vegetarians they find it very hard to eat food cooked in hostel kitchens which cater to non vegetarian students also. JITO Coimbatore Chapter has plans to start a hostel for Jain students who are studying in Coimbatore. Also, Coimbatore being a medical tourism centre, lot of patients come from outside. This hostel will be useful to them too", added Ramesh Bafna.
"JITO is involved in various community development activities which benefit common people and not only Jains", said Rakesh Mehta, Vice Chairman of JITO Coimbatore.
Bheru Jain, Chief Secretary, Alkesh Sheth, Joint Secretary and Jambu Kumar , Treasurer of JITO Coimbatore chapter were also present.
