Coimbatore: 2200 students from the city secured a place in the Asian Book of Records for taking a pledge in unison to insist on not harassing fellow students. The biggest challenge that the world is facing today has to do with youth becoming more vulnerable to mental illness, with some students even being pushed to end their lives.
Coimbatore: 2200 students from the city secured a place in the Asian Book of Records for taking a pledge in unison to insist on not harassing fellow students. A campaign on behalf of the Kikani Institutions of Coimbatore was held to raise awareness of harassment among students. The event was held at the Kikani School grounds in the Vadakovai area in order to highlight that students ought not to harass fellow students.
About 2200 students ranging from the Kindergarten level to Class 12 participated in the event and signed a pledge not to harass fellow students. This event was recorded in the Asian Book of Records, with the event attended by Pradeep Kumar who is a representative from the Asian Book of Records.
Pradeep Kumar believed that over 10,000 students ought to participate to take a pledge in the future. It is to be noted that the International Children's Film Festival was also held at the school to commemorate Children's Day. Films that emphasize the importance of not harassing fellow students were also screened at the Film Festival.
