Coimbatore: Acting on a tip-off, the Karamadai Police on Tuesday arrested a man for selling Marijuana to college students.

Repeated complaints that college students around Karamadai area are being targeted by drug peddlers for selling marijuana and other banned. drugs, the Karamadai police intensified their patrol over the week.
During the patrol, the police caught P. Anand (27) from Sathyamanagalam red-handed in Onnipalayam pirivu near Karamadai while selling marijuana packets to students. They also confiscated 1.1kg of marijuana from him.
Subsequent investigations by the police revealed that he along with his father, Palanisamy had been involved in the sale of marijuana for more than a year. His father who is presently in the prison was arrested by Sathyamanagalam police for selling marijuana, recently.
The Karamadai police filed a case and arrested Anand and produced him in the Coimbatore Court. He was later imprisoned in the central jail.
