Wildlife like bears, leopards and wild bisons have been straying into Coonoor and been on an attacking spree, in and around Coonoor in recent times. Simon (86) who had just come out of his residence at Postal Quarters, Black Bridge in Coonoor was attacked by a herd of wild bisons. He sustained grievous injuries in his arm and abdomen and was rushed to the Coonoor Government Hospital by an 108 ambulance. However, he succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy was conducted.
Upon receiving information about the attack, the forest department officials arrived at the spot and began investigation.
