Farmers in Nilgiris provided with tractors under subsidy

Tractors were provided for the first time to farmers on behalf of Kuruthukuli Primary Agricultural Cooperative Bank, near Ooty. The Central Co-operative Bank has been providing assistance to various farmers through Agricultural Cooperative Banks as per the instructions of the President, Kapachi Vinod.

In this case, tractors were provided for the first time subsidized by TAHDCO. Chandrasekhar, a farmer from Kuruthukuli village, has been awarded a tractor worth Rs. 8 lakh for a subsidized amount of Rs. 2.25 lakhs. The Central Cooperative Bank President, Kapachi Vinod and Managing Director Vasantha presented the tractor to the farmer at the event. Similarly, a large number of loans are being provided to the farmers of the district through crop loans, fertilizer, inputs and jewellery loans.

"Tractor grant is currently being offered for the first time in the TAHDCO grant and farmers should take advantage of this opportunity for agriculture," said Kapachi Vinod.

The Central Bank General Manager Saravanan, Chairman of Kuruthukuli Primary Agricultural Co-operative Bank Dharman and Secretary Raja Kannappan were also present at the event.
