Complaints are on the rise from both tourists and locals that there are insufficient ATM centres in Coonoor. Tourists claim that they are unable to spend in spite of having money in their bank accounts.
Meanwhile, the Indian Bank's ATM operating near the Coonoor Petrol Bunk has also turned into a dirty shelter for dogs and cattle roaming the area during the rains, due to lack of proper maintenance and protection. The public has urged the District Administration to set up adequate ATM centres in Coonoor, and maintain them with proper security guards posted at the entrance.
