Foods to be avoided and the effect of trans fats were discussed at the event. According to Keerthana and Savita, Research Division of Consumer and Civic Action Protection Association, 60,000 people die annually in India due to heart disease and trans fats.
Dr. Deva Prasad, Pediatric Cardiologist at Ramakrishna Hospital in the city advised students to maintain proper weight and eat a good amount of fatty foods. He also noted that bad cholesterol is more likely to cause blood clots and lead to heart attacks.

After the signing of awareness pledges among the students, the Food Safety Officer, Tamilselvan advised students to avoid overeating of foods like cakes, pizzas, burgers and breads, and instead add 70-80 percent of nuts, grains and fruits in their diet. He also urged the students to avoid eating artificial-coloured meat varieties. Students were also advised to abstain from eating products fried in recycled oil and also to eradicate plastic from their environment.

The Citizen's Voice Coordinator and former police officer, Jayaraman also participated in the event which witnessed a large number of students participating with much enthusiasm.
