Coimbatore: The DMK District-in-charge and MLA of Singanallur constituency, N Karthik visited Anuradha this morning at the hospital to offer comfort and support. Anuradha was grievously injured when she stumbled from her two-wheeler on to the road and was hit by a water lorry. Anuradha was trying to avoid being hit by a tottering AIADMK flag pole, near Goldwins on Monday.
Flags and banners were erected in Goldwins area, on account of the Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami's visit to the city to attend a marriage family function of an AIADMK party member.
Addressing the media, MLA N Karthik said, "Even after judicial advice, it is condemnable that the AIADMK continues to engage in such activities. Police should take action against those responsible for the accident, without any discrimination because it was the AIADMK members who erected flagpoles in violation of the law."
N Karthik alleged that police were covering up the entire accident as a normal accident, and not due to the AIADMK flagpole. "The flagpole erected for the Chief Minister's visit to the city is the sole reason for Anuradha's accident and those responsible for it should be subjected to action. An explanation should also be demanded from the AIADMK members if the flagpoles were erected with permission," said N Karthik who also later visited the accident spot.
