The Nilgiris: The hearing of the Kodanad heist-cum-murder case was held at the Ooty Sessions Court today where all 10 accused in the case appeared at the Court.
Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister late M Jayalalithaa's 800-acre tea estate in Kodanad witnessed a break-in and murder in the wee hours of April 24, 2017 which occurred four months after her death. While Om Bahadur, the security guard at the high-profile estate was found murdered, another guard was injured in what police believed to be a robbery attempt by a 10-member gang. The 10 accused were arrested thereafter, in connection with the incident. The case is still ongoing at the District Court in Ooty.
Meanwhile, the accused serving a jail term at the Coimbatore Central Prison, including V K Sayan and Valayar Manoj appeared at the Ooty Sessions Court today. After hearing the case, Judge Vadamalai ordered all 10 accused to appear again on December 2, 2019.
