Coimbatore: The inauguration ceremony of the new building constructed at Rs. 37 lakhs on behalf of the Cooperative Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu was held today in Annur, Mettupalayam. The TN Assembly Speaker, Dhanapal attended the event and distributed welfare measures.

Dhanapal distributed Rs. 2 crores worth of welfare assistance to farmers, such as agricultural credit, credit to women's self-help groups and personal loans. While addressing the gathering, Dhanapal said that the Annur Road project will soon be implemented to ease traffic congestion in the area. He added that several reviews and inspections were causing delay but assured that the project will be implemented soon.
Speaker Dhanapal said that despite the large number of villages in Annur, all villages were well-equipped with road and transport, and that separate drinking water projects for Annur and Avinashi estimated at a cost of Rs. 240 crores will be put to use soon.
