Coimbatore: November Revolution Day was commemorated at the CPM office in the city, with flag hoisting and sweets being distributed.

G Ramakrishnan, politburo member of CPM and MP P R Natarajan took part in the celebrations. Addressing the media after the flag hoisting ceremony, G Ramakrishnan said, "The BJP Government ruling at the Centre is not solving the issues of the public, especially the loss of jobs and economic issues that were not present in the last 50 years.

G Ramakrishnan slammed the Hindu Makkal Katchi leader, Arjun Sampath's act of draping a saffron shawl on the Thiruvalluvar statue as cheap publicity and felt that it was unfair that only a mere case had been registered against him. "He ought to have been booked for causing damage to public property," he added.

"They celebrated Gandhi who was assassinated by the RSS and are now draping a saffron shawl on Valluvar who had noted that there should not be any indiscrimination even at birth," opined G Ramakrishnan. He also slameed the Sangh Parivar groups for engaging in derogatory activities and condemned the Central Government's decision of imposing Hindi in the New Education Policy.
