Coimbatore: The CODISSIA industrial parks at Mopperipalayam and Kallapalayam inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami in February this year was a much awaited project by MSMEs. The CODISSIA Defence Innovation and Incubation Centre had been planned at CIPL and the industrial park is expected to generate 30,000 jobs directly and indirectly, for the locals.
Coimbatore: The CODISSIA industrial parks at Mopperipalayam and Kallapalayam inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami in February this year was a much awaited project by MSMEs. The CODISSIA Defence Innovation and Incubation Centre had been planned at CIPL and the industrial park is expected to generate 30,000 jobs directly and indirectly, for the locals.
The CODISSIA Industrial Park Limited (CIPL) spread over 225 acres at Mopperipalayam is ready for industries and plots will be handed over to the owners, early next week. Kallapalayam Industrial park is spread over 120 acres.
Mopperipalayam has 200 plots ranging from 25 cents to 2 acres which would be handed over to the respective owners, early next week. Meanwhile, a hut was constructed inside CIPL at Mopperipalayam without permission by a family who claimed to have lived there a few years ago. Since the land was bought by CODISSIA and approval had been granted by authorities, CIPL approached the District Collector for removal of the encroachment. After verification, the Collector gave the order and eviction of the inhabitants was done today by the Sulur Tahsildar with the help of Karumathampatty police.
Commenting on this, K Ilango, Managing Director, CIPL said, "The plots at Mopperipalayam are ready and we would be handing them over to the owners next week. Mopperiplayam has 200 plots and a few of the owners are raring to start their industries at the park. Once industries start their operations, this park can bring about 10,000 direct jobs and 20,000 jobs indirectly."
"There was an encroachment at Mopperipalayam and with due orders the eviction has been done. Now we have started constructing a fencing wall so that such incidents do not happen in future. Everything has been done after getting permission from the District Collector. The plots will be handed over to the owners next week," he added.
