The Government of Tamil Nadu has also been advised to follow the Amendment all across Tamil Nadu and seize hoarded onion stock in the case of a violation. A press release from the district administration stated onion wholesalers can hold 50 metric tonnes and retailers can stock up to 10 metric tonnes from November 30. A warning has also been issued that if anyone is found stocking up excess onion produce, that stock will be seized by the Government.
