Shanmugasundaram is a Traffic Head Constable at the Singanallur Police Station and was on his regular duty on Tuesday, at the Singanallur main road. An elderly woman travelling in a two-wheeler with her relative suddenly fell unconscious near the Singanallur signal. The relative who was riding the vehicle also stumbled due to the sudden jolt. Shanmugasundaram who was present at the spot lifted the unconscious elderly woman and carried her to an auto to rush her to the hospital.
